Pet Care: $150

We will travel to most locations in the United States and care for your pets while you're away. You will be responsible for mileage or air fare, depending on which method of transportation is most sensible and economical. If we travel by air, a vehicle must be provided for us while you are away. Due to the nature of these engagements, we require that you book any traveling at least 90 days in advance. Availability for this service is extremely limited.

Pet Taxi

We can taxi your pet to the vet, groomer, doggie daycare, etc. This also includes a walk for dogs on pickup or dropoff.

Taking your Pet(s) to the Vet

Includes a potty break before travel, staying with your pet at the vet's office, communication with you during the vet visit, and another potty break upon returning home. Additional time at the vet’s office will be billed at $10 per 15 minutes.

Calls to Poison Control

(There are no free Animal Poison Control lines)
We encourage all clients to pet-proof their homes and keep any potentially harmful substances in a place not accessible to their pets. If, when we arrive for a pet care visit, we find that your pet has ingested a chemical or other substance which may be harmful, we will call the ASPCA Poison Control Line for immediate instructions on how to proceed.

Lock-Out Service

9 pm – 7 am: $65

If you lose your keys or lock yourself out of your home or car, we will bring you our copy of your keys.

Home Security Checks

(No pets present in house)
When you travel with your pets, we will bring in your mail, water the plants, alternate blinds and lights, check the water level in the pool, and make sure that everything is okay in and around your home while you’re away. We recommend allowing us to visit at least every other day while you’re away, to maintain the appearance of someone being home.

Keys to your home must be kept on file with us or stored in a lockbox that is mounted on your house or keybox attached to the doorknob. Even if we will be entering through an automatic garage door, we will need to have a key in case of a power outage. If you would like your key returned to you after the service is complete, we can mail it to you for an additional fee. If you are moving or being deployed out of the area, we will return your key to you, free of charge.

If payment is not left at the first visit, we will call to collect your credit card information. If you wish to pay by check after the end of service, there will be an additional fee of $25 added to your invoice. The check total should reflect the additional amount.

Please leave ample cleaning supplies, extra paper towels and trash bags when going away. We do carry a small cleaning and first aid kit in our cars, but our supplies are limited and we prefer to use the cleaners that you and your pets are comfortable with.

All bookings should be made at least 48 hours in advance of your first desired service date. We can often accommodate last minute bookings, but there will be an additional $10 fee per visit.

We will no longer be participating in Shared Care engagements. Any service schedule where a 3rd party assumes partial responsibility for the care of your pets would be considered Shared Care. An example of this would be a situation where a family member handles the mid-day care of your pets while we handle the morning and nighttime care. We will not provide this type of service for liability reasons.

We do not set exact times for our visits unless your pet requires a time-critical medication (such as insulin). All visits will be scheduled and performed within a 2-hour time block. If you need to schedule a single visit at a specific time, we will try to accommodate those requests.

We require at least 3 visits per day for households with dogs. If you have a doggy door, the minimum is 2 visits per day. Households with only cats, exotics, small mammals and/or birds are eligible for 1 visit per day. A 30 minute visit is required on feeding visits for dogs. The 15-minute visit option is available for the following services: Mid-day/late night potty breaks for dogs, up to 2 cats, some exotics and small mammals. We will not accept a booking where we feel like there is not enough time to properly complete all tasks.

In inclement weather, we will not perform full dog walks. This is for the safety of your pet and the sitter. If your pet will only potty on a leash, we will take them out long enough for them to potty and then we will return inside for playtime (visit times will not be shortened). Please provide towels near the front door if you anticipate that it will be raining during our visits.

We will no longer be accepting handwritten notes. We will only accept emailed notes so that all sitters verify that they’ve received the information. Please make sure that all of your pet information is correct and up to date in PetSitClick before booking services.

If you would like to meet additional sitters on our staff that may care for your pets, please let us know as soon as possible and we will schedule it, free of charge, with that sitter. We can’t always accommodate last minute requests for meetings.

Please text or call us to check in when you return home. If we can’t get a hold of you, we will continue to care for your pets until we have made contact with you. There will be an additional charge of $20 for any additional, unscheduled visits in addition to the regular service fee. This also applies if we arrive at your home and find that you have returned.

We will send you and your pet sitter a group text at the start of service. It is important to use the group text when communicating with your pet sitter so that our office also receives any updates, requests or instructions that you have for your sitter.

We prohibit the use of cameras or sound recording devices in bathrooms, or areas of the home utilized by our staff members during Overnight or Around the Clock Care sits. If Pet Sitter(s) find there are cameras in these locations, or during these specific services, we will terminate service immediately. You are welcome to use these devices during any of our other services. At Home Comforts Pet Sitting does not authorize any images or sound to be published.

Not often, but from time to time, an emergency situation can arise while your home and pets are in our care. Our first responsibility will always be to the safety of your pets. Additional fees will apply for transporting your pet to the Veterinarian, calls to Poison Control or additional time spent at your home to arrange for or wait for professional services such as plumbers or electricians and to assist with clean up. Every effort will be made to contact you for instructions, however, if your pets or home are in danger, we will first act to control or contain the situation and minimize danger or damage to your pets or home.

In addition to the regular rates, we charge an additional $10 fee per visit for the holidays listed below.
New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veteran’s Day (fee waived for veterans), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

These programs are designed to be an ongoing, regular service. We build our day’s schedule around them. A $9 cancellation fee may apply to cancellations made within 24 hours. If you are ill, please contact us before 9 AM on the day of service and we will confirm your cancellation with no charge. If we arrive at your house before you contact us to cancel, you will be charged for the full visit.

Overnight and Around the Clock Care:
Cancellation with less than 7 days notice: 50% of total scheduled service fee will apply. This includes any Drop In Visits that are paired with Overnight Care. If cancelled within 7 days, a credit on your deposit will be issued towards your next service, otherwise, the deposit is forfeited.

Holidays (including Federal):
Cancellation of service scheduled through and around holidays must be canceled no less than 7 days prior to the first scheduled visit or 75% of the total scheduled service fees will apply.

Early Returns
Please remember that we reserve all of the times for your pet’s care when you give us your schedule. If you return home early, charges for the rest of the visits scheduled will still apply. No credits will be applied unless it was discussed and approved prior to the scheduled visits.

Payment is required prior to the first date of service.

We accept cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards and PopMoney as valid payment options.
If you are taking care of your service fees with Cash or a Check, please leave payment at the first visit.

Credit and debit cards will be charged 3 days prior to the first day of service.
Cash should be left, clearly marked “AHC,” and checks should be made out to “At Home Comforts Pet Sitting.”
If you opt to use PopMoney, arrangements can be made over the phone.
Dishonored checks will incur a $30 service fee plus any charges made by the bank.

Your Pet Care associate works hard to give the best service possible. If you would like to appreciate your associate with a gratuity, you may leave cash, a separate check, or you may add the amount to your payment check and we will make sure they receive it and know it is from you. If you would like to put a gratuity on your credit or debit card, simply e-mail or call the office and we will include the amount in your payment.

Please note we have done our best to ensure fair and comparable prices for the valuable and professional services we provide to you. Should you have any questions regarding our fees or policies, please feel free to discuss them with At Home Comforts Pet Sitting management.

We offer a $1 discount on Drop-in visits to our military and first responders.
